A long view of application work
I have spent 30 years in web technology—as a developer, consultant, technical lead, engineering manager, and CTO. That role history is useful because application decisions never live only in code. They affect operations, customers, maintainability, risk, and the people who need to use the result.
At 66, I bring a perspective shaped by many generations of web technology without stepping away from the work itself. I remain a hands-on senior consultant: understanding the problem, choosing an appropriate approach, building the application, and making sure it can operate reliably.
Why an independent consultancy
DSWD is intentionally direct. There is no sales handoff and no layer between the client conversation and delivery. Engagements are centered on a defined application problem, honest boundaries, clear communication, and work that fits the client’s actual environment.
Shopify is the primary market context at launch, especially where storefront, catalog, operational, and integration needs have moved beyond what off-the-shelf software can handle well.
