The business problem
The merchant wanted shoppers to assemble a curated flight from an eligible product set without exposing the individual components throughout the storefront or allowing the selection rules to be bypassed in the cart.
What DSWD delivered
DSWD delivered a custom storefront builder, merchant-facing configuration, cart construction, and checkout validation. Shoppers meet the flight as one coherent product experience while the merchant controls eligibility from Shopify administration.
The shopper and merchant experience
The shopper chooses from the available options and adds the complete flight to the cart in one action. Individual components stay out of normal collections, search, and the sitemap. The merchant updates the eligible selection through a focused administrative control rather than a code release.
Safeguards and operating qualities
- Selection rules are enforced on the server at checkout, not only in the browser.
- Cart edits cannot silently break the required composition.
- Product visibility rules preserve the intended merchandising experience.
- Merchant configuration is separated from storefront presentation.
- Approval and installation access are handled through a dedicated path.
Project-specific technical choices
For this project, we used native Shopify extension points together with a focused application because the experience needed to span storefront selection, merchant configuration, cart construction, and enforceable checkout rules. That combination kept business rules authoritative while preserving a polished shopping flow.
Evidence and claim boundary
The application has operated on a client’s live storefront since September 2026. DSWD does not identify the client or publish unverified conversion, revenue, or shopper-behavior claims.
